We are a registered pre-school, part of Barming Primary School, that has been successfully operating in the Scout Hut since 1977. Our aim is to provide quality care and education for children in a safe and secure environment.

We aim to ensure that our service is fully inclusive in meeting the needs of all children, particularly those that arise from their ethnic, heritage, social and economic background, gender, ability or disability. Our setting is committed to anti-discriminatory practice to promote equality of opportunity and valuing diversity for all children and families.

The preschool is regularly inspected by OFSTED. Staff are qualified as to the requirements of OFSTED and also undertake training in additional specialiased areas. Every member of staff has been vetted by the Criminal Records Bureau and undertakes First Aid Training. The staff also receive training in Child Protection. We welcome support from the Early Years Advisory Teacher and the Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator.

We are registered to claim grant funding from Kent County Council for eligible three and four your old children. We also accept Childcare Vouchers. Additionally we are registered to claim free for 2 funding for children whose parents meet the necessary criteria.

We are registered for up to 32 children per session and are fully staffed in excess of the minimum requirements of OFSTED. We are open term time only and follow the same opening pattern as Barming School. We take children from approximately two years.

Belmont Pre-School is open for ten sessions a week. We are open Monday to Friday 9:10 AM to 3:30 PM. The Tuesday & Thursday afternoon sessions are Rising School sessions.

At present our fees are £12.00 per session with a £5.00 charge for lunch. Fees are due at the beginning of each half term but arrangements can be made for payment to be made weekly if necessary.

Belmont Pre-School operates a key person scheme. We believe that children settle best when they have a person to relate to, who knows them and their parents well, and who can meet their individual needs.

We maintain a waiting list. Parents are always welcome to visit the setting with their child prior to enrolling and also again shortly before the child starts attending.
