Attendance of Sick Children

To help prevent the spread of infectious diseases, please do not send your child to pre-school if they are unwell.

In accordance with recommended guidelines, please do not bring your child to the pre-school until 48 hours has lapsed after a bout of sickness and/or diarrhoea or they have been prescribed antibiotics.

There is no routine exclusion of contacts of the common infectious diseases. There is a list of the incubation and exclusion periods of the common infectious diseases at the pre-school. Please ask to see it if you are concerned at any time.

Please let us know if your child has Rubella (German Measles), Chicken Pox or Slap Cheek so that we can notify parents as they can be dangerous during pregnancy.

It would be appreciated if you could let us know if your child will be absent from pre-school with one of the common infectious diseases. Appropriate information can then be displayed for all parents.

If a child becomes unwell whilst at pre-school we will, of course, attempt to contact the parent/carer.
